BossaBrasil Festival

Now through June 12th, it's the BossaBrasil Festival at Birdland in Midtown. Now in it's fourth year, it's a celebration of Bossa Nova and rhythms of Brazil. The star of this showcase is vocalist Emilio Santiago. He's been called the Nat King Cole of Brazil.

Andrea Arroyo is holding a special "Meet the Artist" event Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Women's eNews Downtown at 6 Barclay Street (sixth floor). In conjunction with her exhibition, Arroyo will be making drawings and answering questions. It's free and open to the public. Reservations are required.
Figment Arts Festival

Governor's Island is hosting Figment Arts Festival this weekend. Among the many offerings -- group belly dancing. There will also be an eco-art installation by MSLK. The installation features 2,629 take-out meals which is equal to one second of U.S. consumption of take-out.
