The founders of Experimental Troupe Comedy are celebrating nearly two decades of laughs and satirical routines. NY1's Stephanie Simon filed the following report.

Experimental Troupe Comedy a.k.a Etcetera or ETC is celebrating it's 15th anniversary. But the origins of this comedy troupe seem anything but funny.

"We met at Stuyvesant High School back in 1994, we actually all did speech and debate at Stuyvesant and we had an opportunity to perform at Jefferson Market Library, they had an open mic and so we decided lets start a sketch group," said ETC Co-Founder Jamil Ellis.

Fifteen years later they're still going strong, but they're also
reflecting back on the early days.

"Because we have a lot of speed in terms of professionalism in filming and video taping I think that a lot of stuff we produce is very fast, very recent, very topical," said ETC Co-Founder Chris Chan Roberson. "So even with the big guys like Saturday Night Live, it takes them a week, but we can get together shoot something and have it that day."

ETC performs at The Pit on West 29th Street the last Saturday of every month at 7 p.m. You can also catch their comedic exploits online at opensourcecomedy.net and etc3dot.com/wordpress.
