A new three-door, extra long bus is getting a test drive in the Bronx.
The bus is designed to help speed up the process of letting passengers on and off at stops.
There is a door in the middle, in addition to the standard exits at the front and the back.
The bus, which is 20-feet longer than the standard, was first tested on the M15 in Manhattan. Last week, it began a month-long run along the Bx12 local route.
If the run is successful, officials are expected to order more buses for other routes throughout the city.
