It took about 70 years to find the mistake, but a mosaic tile sign at the G train's Broadway station in Brooklyn was recently revealed to be misspelled.
Upon close inspection, as seen above, the sign says the train takes riders to "Brodaway."
Straphangers at the stop by the Williamsburg Bridge didn't seem too concerned about or aware about the misspelling
"I've been here for along while, I never noticed that," said a local.
"I don't know nothing about that, I don't know nothing," said another.
"I kind of just walked down, gazed at it, because I thought I was wrong at first, but it's actually misspelled," said a third.
The MTA says the tile mosaic has been this way for a long time, perhaps even since the station opened in the 1930s.
The agency is discussing how to go about correcting it.
