A new report finds most bicyclists in the city are not observing traffic and helmet laws.
According to the Hunter College report, only 43 percent of cyclists stop at red lights.
About 14 percent of cyclists were seen riding against traffic, riding on sidewalks and not using designated bike lanes.
Children aged under 14 were more likely to use bike lanes, but 26 percent were still seen riding against traffic and 56 percent riding on sidewalks.
The study also found 51 percent of children under age 14 and 27 percent of bike messengers do not wear helmets, despite it being required by law.
