Mayor Michael Bloomberg is making another effort to get New Yorkers to push the pedals.
City planners will unveil a proposal today that will require all newly-constructed apartment and office buildings to include indoor parking spots for bikes.
The plan would require all new residential buildings to provide at least one bike parking space for every two units.
Office buildings would be required to have one spot for every 7,500 square feet.
Retails stores, universities, and hospitals would also be required to accommodate bike storage.
The plan will undergo public review starting next week.
