Gas prices are now at a level unseen since winter.
According to AAA, the average price of a gallon of regular dropped to $2.99 nationwide Saturday.
It's the first time gas was below $3 since mid-February.
The decrease also represents a 27 percent drop from the all-time high of $4.11 in mid-July.
Gas prices in the five boroughs still have a way to go before reaching the $3 mark.
The average cost of a gallon of regular is $3.31, or 55 cents lower than a year ago at this time.
