The Port Authority is trying to entice more airlines and travelers to fly out of Stewart International Airport in upstate Newburgh.

The agency says it will waive some fees for airlines at Stewart and pay up to $3 per departing seat on new nonstop routes for a year.

The Port Authority will also help with marketing and advertising for the new routes.

It is all part of an effort to get more travelers from the New York City area and the mid-Hudson Valley to use the airport.

The Port Authority recently approved a $20 million expansion of Stewart.
