Sources told NY1 Tuesday that Metropolitan Transportation Authority Vice Chairman Andrew Saul is slated to take the helm of the agency as the search for a new chairman continues.
Saul, the head of the MTA board's finance committee, will serve as interim chairman, according to sources.
He will likely follow in the same policy path as Jay Walder, according to sources.
The outgoing chair's last day is next Friday.
If a new chairman is not appointed by the governor and approved by the State Senate by then, Saul will take over.
