The Transport Workers Union is suing the city in an effort to stop commuter vans from taking over bus routes that were cut last month.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced a pilot program last month for ride-sharing vans to run along three to six bus routes that were cut by the MTA.
The transit union yesterday filed suit, claiming it's illegal for the city to offer a commuter van service.
The union says if the court sides with the city, the union will offer its own commuter van service run by laid-off bus drivers.
