Former Congressman Vito Fossella is spending the weekend behind bars as part of his drunk driving sentence.
Fossella was sentenced Monday on charges of driving under the influence related to his arrest in Virginia last May.
He was sentenced to five days in a Virginia prison, but is getting credit for one day spent in jail when he was originally arrested.
He will serve the remaining time on two consecutive weekends.
Fossella's arrest last May led to his admission of an extramarital affair with a woman with whom he had a child. He later decided not to run for re-election.
