Senator Hillary Clinton could have two security teams tailing her if she becomes the new secretary of state.

The Daily News says if Clinton gets the job, there will likely be logistical issues over who will protect her.

The former First Lady already has plainclothes agents with her at all times, under a federal law requiring the Secret Service to protect former presidents and their spouses.

But the paper says another law requires the State Department's Diplomatic Security Service to protect the Secretary of State.

A former Diplomatic Security agent told the paper DSS might cover Clinton during the day and on foreign trips, while the Secret Service would protect her at night while she's at home.

U.S. counterterror officials told the paper there will likely be a "gradual handoff" from the Secret Service to DSS.
