Manhattan Congressman Charles Rangel has hired an accounting firm to review his personal finances as he tries to clear his name amid an ethics investigation.
Rangel's office said yesterday a Maryland-based firm will review his finances and issue a report to the House Ethics Committee.
Rangel heads the tax writing Congressional Ways and Means Committee.
He's been under fire for months over issues concerning his personal finances – including failing to report $75,000 in rental income for a beach house in the Dominican Republic.
Rangel has denied any wrongdoing.
