A longtime fixture at the city board of elections has died.
Former Executive Director Daniel DeFrancesco, 68, died Wednesday.
DeFrancesco’s tenure with the BOE began in 1967 as a driver to its president. He was appointed Executive Director in 1988.
Even after his 2002 retirement, he continued to serve as an advisor to elections administrators throughout the state.
A viewing will be held in the Bronx over the weekend with his funeral scheduled for Monday.
DeFrancesco is survived by two children and several grandchildren.
