In an effort to find new energy sources, the city is considering creating off-shore windfarms.
At a speech in Las Vegas, Mayor Michael Bloomberg is calling for the city to explore new energy ideas, including possibly placing wind turbines on top of the city's bridges and skyscrapers.
Bloomberg says the turbines, which resemble windmills, could also be placed off the city's shore.
Windfarms have been a source of controversy Upstate because some residents say they're an eyesore.
Supporters say windfarms are a relatively cheap source of power.
