Governor Andrew Cuomo's Medicaid Redesign Team has been slapped with an ethics complaint.
A group that advocates for victims of medical malpractice filed the complaint against the team of health care experts, insurance company employees and lawmakers.
The group accuses the team of capping malpractice awards to serve the hospitals that employ them.
Some of the members are said to have close ties to the governor. The center for Justice and Democracy told the State Public Integrity Commission there is a conflict of interest among members of the team.
Neither the governor nor the commission has commented on the claim.
