With rumors swirling around his political future, outgoing City Comptroller William Thompson said Friday that he does not have his sights set on Albany.
Recent reports had the former Democratic mayoral candidate interested in several political offices in 2010.
Thompson says he's still considering a Democratic primary challenge against U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.
But speaking on "New York Times Close Up" on NY1, Thompson said he is not interested in running for lieutenant governor or state comptroller.
"It's something I pointed out before when there was a vacancy, people on the state level had reached out and asked if I was interested and that was a few years ago and I indicated no," said Thompson. "While you don't say no to anything right now, it probably isn't one of the things I'm looking at seriously."
The complete interview with the outgoing comptroller will air this Saturday at 10 p.m. on "New York Times Close Up" on NY1.
