Outgoing Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau had some harsh words for the mayor's office when asked Thursday about an alleged fund discrepancy.
Morgenthau used profanity with reporters in response to recent claims by the Bloomberg administration that the 90 year old has kept around $80 million in bank accounts not registered with the comptroller's office.
Morgenthau has welcomed a probe into the office's books.
His office also released a statement, saying, "This city administration has now leaked word that this office has unseemly 'secret bank accounts'. The accusation is false and irresponsible."
This is the latest installment in a feud between Morgenthau and the city that began with a disagreement over deferred prosecution settlements.
