Mayor Michael Bloomberg and City Comptroller William Thompson will debate for the second and final time ahead of next week’s election.
Both candidates are planning pre-debate rallies today outside the ABC studios at 67th Street and Columbus Avenue.
Should candidates be on the attack or focus on the issues? Join the conversation on NY1's "The Call" with John Schiumo at 9 p.m., or email your thoughts.
The debate is set for 7 p.m.
A Quinnipiac poll released yesterday shows Thompson with plenty of ground to make up, trailing the mayor by 18 percentage points.
Thompson dismissed the numbers, saying polls have frequently been wrong.
And, although the mayoral election is just one week away, many residents of Astoria, Queens, seemed to be uninterested in the race.
In fact, some at the Broadway train station did not even know when they could cast their vote.
"Actually I do not [know when Election Day is],” said a potential voter. “You caught me."
"Is [Election Day] this Thursday?” asked another.
"It is today?” asked another.
When the polls open next Tuesday, some said they may skip the trip.
"I might, I'm trying to decide,” said a Queens resident.
"In this off-year election, I think probably Bloomberg is going to take it," said another. "I’m not interested in any other election."
NY1 found at least one woman who will be there to “absolutely” cast her vote.
For those who said they would be voting, it was a pretty even split between Mayor Michael Bloomberg and City Comptroller William Thompson. Though one woman said while she would vote against Bloomberg, she could not name his opponent.

The polls opens at 6 a.m. next Tuesday and closes at 9 p.m.
