A spokesperson says Justice Ginsburg was feeling ill at work Thursday and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Ginsburg underwent surgery for pancreatic cancer in February but returned to work quickly.

About an hour before she started feeling faint, Ginsburg reportedly received an iron sucrose infusion to treat a deficiency discovered in July.

Ginsburg is the second woman to be named to the nation's highest court.

She was nominated by President Bill Clinton to replace Justice Byron White in 1993.
