Primary Voter Turnout Could Be Lowest In History

Turnout from Tuesday's Democratic primary was so low, it could end up being the lowest in city history.
Only about 10 percent of the city's 3.1 million registered Democrats came out to the polls to vote for mayor.
Turnout in the last Democratic mayoral primary four years ago was 18 percent.
One unusual outcome of Tuesday's vote is that more people voted for comptroller and public advocate than voted for mayor.
There were 352,420 votes cast in the comptroller race, 347,293 votes cast in the public advocate race, and 311,418 votes cast in the mayoral race.
