President Barack Obama is back in Washington, D.C. after a whirlwind fundraising tour in the city Wednesday.
He ended his night at the Sheraton in Midtown where he talked about taxes and the economy.
Obama reworked his campaign slogan, saying change you can believe in does not happen overnight.
Taking shots at the GOP field of contenders, he said watching them on TV is proof he should get a second term.
He struck a more serious tone when he said everyone must do their part to ensure the future of the country.
"No matter who we are. No matter where we come from, we're one nation,” said Obama. “We're one people. And that's what's at stake in this election."
The president took some heat from Occupy Wall Street protesters who called him the “one percent president.”
Obama raised $2.4 million Wednesday night.
