Former State Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno is quitting his consulting job after being found guilty on federal corruption charges.
CMA Consulting Services in suburban Albany says Bruno, 80, resigned yesterday as chief executive.
Bruno says he plans to appeal the two fraud convictions under the Honest Services statute.
The verdict stems from Bruno's dealings with an Albany-area businessman.
State Senate and Assembly leaders say they are working to tighten the state's ethics rules following the conviction.
Bruno was acquitted on five other counts. The jury could not reach a verdict on one count.
