Eight torah scrolls stolen from a Jewish center in Queens were returned to synagogue officials during a Tuesday ceremony at Manhattan’s police headquarters.

The torahs were stolen in August from the Jewish Center of Kew Gardens Hills.

Valued at around $500,000, the scrolls were returned in time for the upcoming Jewish high holidays.

"You can imagine the joy that we felt when they called and actually said they had recovered all eight torahs,” said President Meredith Deckler of the Jewish Center of Kew Gardens. “I understand this is the first time in 100 years that all torahs that were stolen had been successfully recovered."

Eric Giraldo and Alan Lozano have been charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.
