Senior White House Advisor Valerie Jarrett spoke exclusively with Inside City Hall’s Errol Louis about the dramatic reversal by the Komen Foundation, which had caused a firestorm by announcing it would stop funding Planned Parenthood for breast cancer screenings.

In the first extended comments from a White House official, Jarrett remarked on the impact that social media had in bringing about the Foundation's about-face.

Jarrett told Louis, “It’s a pretty quick reversal, and so we have a very close working relationship with Planned Parenthood, so I think it was a good decision. And so I was impressed with how quickly the social media is working these days.”

Errol Louis also asked Jarrett about the new economic numbers that shows national employment dropped to 8.3%.

Jarret responded saying, “We’ve now had 23 consecutive months of private sector job growth. 3.7 million jobs. We’re moving in the right direction, but we have a long way to go.”
