City officials have decided to close six more schools because of a high number of students reporting flu-like symptoms.
Four of the schools are in East Harlem. They include P.S. 83, which shares its space with P.S. 182, and P.S. 155, which includes P169, a school for children with disabilities.
The two remaining schools are in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. They are P.S. 503, which shares its space with P.S. 506.
All six of the schools are scheduled to reopen on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the city Health Department says it has confirmed more than two dozen more cases of the H1N1 flu virus.
The total number of confirmed cases now stands at more than 410.
All of the serious cases reported so far, including the four H1N1-linked deaths, have been in people with pre-exisiting conditions.
