Some students in Manhattan are putting all their money on a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Students from P-S 163, P-S 182 and JHS 22 on the Upper West Side are building what they hope is the world's largest piggy bank.

The bank is being made to symbolize the importance of setting goals, staying in school, working hard, and saving money for college.

"All of us all worked together and painted the pink [skin of the pig] and worked together," said student Wesley Velasquez.

"The pig is to help other people save up money for college so other students can go and get their degree," said student Marie Verdi.

"It's part of a promise to get parents to think about investing for kids, to get all of us to think about the fact that higher education is expensive and that kids deserve the right to dream and to think that they can go to college and achieve goals," said afterschool director Raegan Truax-O'Gorman.

The giant pig is 14-feet-tall, 22.5-feet-long and six-feet-wide, but it will not hold loose change.

Instead, students will write their dreams and aspirations on cards to place into the bank.

The piggy bank will be unveiled Tuesday.
