Elected officials and religious leaders teamed up Sunday for a march across the Brooklyn Bridge to City Hall Park to protest a ban on religious gatherings in public school buildings.

The Department of Education's ban against religious gatherings in public school buildings takes effect on February 12, forcing more than 60 churches to find new homes.

Opponents of the law said such a ban is discriminatory.

The Abundant Life Church in Brooklyn, which was forced out of P.S. 91, has already found a new home in Prospect Heights.

The U.S. Supreme Court had ruled against hearing a case that would allow the churches to use school spaces.
