Catholic school teachers will pay more for health insurance under their union's new contract.
A tentative three-year deal has been reached between the Association of Catholic Schools and the Federation of Catholic Teachers.
The deal calls for teachers' contributions to their medical plans to increase to 9.5 percent of the premium cost next year, and 10 percent in the following two years.
The agreement also includes modest pay raises of 1 percent for the first two years and 2 percent in the third year.
The contract must still be ratified by union members and the Association's board of directors.
The deal would cover 174 elementary and secondary schools in the Archdiocese of New York.
