Police have missed a deadline on releasing the number of arrests in city schools.
Officials from the New York Civil Liberties Union say the department is 30 days late releasing data on what 5,000 police officers are doing in public schools.
The department is required to release the information under the Student Safety Act.
According to the Daily News, police claim they are behind because they need to be as accurate as possible.
They told the paper the process of collecting and analyzing the data is complicated.
