A teacher has been charged with assaulting a student at a Brooklyn elementary school.
Police say second grade teacher Malcolm McConnachie grabbed a student's arm and forced her into her chair, causing bruises on her arm.
The seven-year-old student was transported from P.S. 46 in Clinton Hill to Brooklyn Hospital to be treated.
Department of Education officials said late Wednesday that McConnachie, who has been at the school for 10 years, was being reassigned away from the classroom.
He was charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
