Investigators say no-show custodians cheated the city's Department of Education out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The special schools investigator says the custodian at Harry S Truman High School in Co-Op City, Bronx signed checks for at least five custodians who actually worked in other schools.

One of them was allegedly paid for more than 3,000 hours he was not at Truman.

Investigators say that custodian also used school funds to pay other custodians to work on properties he owned in Queens.

Officials say those named in the report will be fired and placed on the ineligible list.

DOE officials say they are exploring legal options to recover the money.
