The United Federation of Teachers has unveiled a new ad that calls on the mayor to protect teachers and schools.
The 30-second spot blasts Bloomberg for protecting wealthy New Yorkers as public schools remain underfunded, and says the mayor "sees things differently than the rest of us."
UFT President Michael Mulgrew wants the mayor to support an extension of the millionaire's tax, which is set to expire late this year.
Mulgrew says the revenue would prevent teacher layoffs, which is another focus of the ad, entitled "Blizzard."
The spot goes on to remind Bloomberg the future of city students is more urgent than any snow storm.
Since the city's poor response to the December blizzard, city officials have paid more attention and money to storm cleanup.
A spokesperson said the mayor is focused on ensuring the city gets its fair share of money from Albany and that he will also continue to fight for the students' future.
