In an update on a story that was exclusively seen on NY1, a bus driver accused of leaving a four-year old preschooler on a bus in Manhattan on Monday is now under arrest.

Police sources say Maritza Hinds, 35, turned herself in yesterday.

School matron Kenia Castillo did the same.

NY1 was told both suspects were charged with reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child.

Kim Booker says her son Kanye, who is a special needs student, fell asleep and was left on the parked bus near the Kennedy Child Study Center in Lenox Hill.

Booker says she believes the driver and matron did not check to see if all the children were off the bus.

She says when her son woke up, he pushed open the doors himself and figured out where the school was a half-block away.

Booker says she plans on suing the bus company because Kanye has been traumatized by the incident.

The Department of Education says an internal investigation is ongoing and that it is cooperating with police.
