Hundreds of school principals are cashing in on high student test scores.

As part of their contract, bonuses totaling nearly $7 million are being given to administrators at 291 schools this year.

The bonuses are worth up to $15,000 each and are given as a reward to schools where progress reports rate in the top 20 percent.

However, the bonuses are being withheld from two of the top performing schools. That's because administrators at the Theater Arts Performing Company School in the Bronx and
the Shuang Wen School on the Lower East Side are under investigation.

Shuang Wen is accused of charging admissions fees for required classes and for alleged admissions and attendance fraud.

The principal bonus program will continue next year, unlike the teacher bonus pilot program, which has been suspended.
