Schools Chancellor Cathie Black will spend her first official day on the job Monday touring five different schools -- one in each borough.
Black has been visiting schools across the city since early November, when Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced he had chosen her to replace Joel Klein.
Critics have cited her lack of education experience.
Black was previously the president of Hearst Magazines.
She plans to start her first-day-of-school tour in Brooklyn.
