The Bronx district attorney is investigating allegations that a former junior high teacher had a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old student.

The city's Special Commissioner of Investigation is recommending that Wayne Bartley, 46, be barred from teaching.

The probe found Bartley had a sexual relationship with a student at IS 229 in the Bronx for more than a year.

"We went out and spoke to that female student, and she told us that for approximately a two-year period, he had been taking her to a motel in the Bronx, and having sexual intercourse with her in that hotel, and that went on twice a month for over a two-year period, when she was 13 and 14 years old," said Special Commissioner of Investigation Richard Condon.

The probe also uncovered that Bartley had inappropriate relationships with two underage students in Brooklyn -- one at IS 392, the other at the KIPP Charter School located inside this building on Park Place in Crown Heights.

One involved nude photos and the other inappropriate touching.

The report says Bartley was banned from teaching by the Department of Education, but still worked at the charter school for a year.

Both the Bronx and Brooklyn DA's offices say they are reviewing the report and will decide whether or not to press charges.
