The upcoming summer break could be a little bit longer for city school kids.

According to the Daily News, the Department of Education is in talks with the teachers union to move the start of the school year after Rosh Hashanah.

The original schedule calls for kids to start school on Wednesday September 8th, and then have the next two days off.

Under the proposed plan, classes would start Monday, September 13th.
