Parents and teachers received a lesson from some very special students Friday.

Public school children from all five boroughs gathered in SoHo to celebrate their talents during the Department of Education's Inclusion Celebration.

The students each have a disability, but it doesn't stop them from being aspiring performers, writers and artists.

"People with disabilities have just as much to give to our community, to our country, to our city, and our state as everybody else," said Manhattan Assemblyman Micah Kellner.

"'The child in the wheelchair could be the principal of our school, indeed, could be the chancellor of the entire school district. We will never know, unless the schools give these kids the same chances as everyone else,'" quoted Schools Chancellor Joel Klein. "In that simple statement, that child captured what I think we collectively need to capture."

Parents were given a booklet featuring essays, poems and artwork produced by children with disabilities.
