A Staten Island elementary school is expected to be open Tuesday as it continues to be hit by the norovirus, a stomach ailment that tends to spread quickly among children.
According to the Department of Education, 245 out 928 students and five staff members at P.S. 5 in Pleasant Plains were absent from school today.
Classrooms were disinfected and windows were left open for ventilation at the school. Air tests were also being conducted.
