A new study says most parents not only want city schools to teach sex education, but they mistakenly think it's already being taught.
Hart Research Associates conducted the survey to gauge New York voters' understanding of and attitudes toward reproductive health issues in the state.
The survey found 85 percent of New Yorkers want comprehensive sex education. It also found 77 percent mistakenly think it's part of the required school curriculum.
Currently, neither the city nor the state is required to teach it.
In response, Planned Parenthood of New York City launched a campaign advocating for sex education in schools.
