Governor Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday vetoed a controversial bill regarding special education funding.
The proposal would require public school officials to consider religion and other family beliefs when deciding whether to send special education students to private schools on tax payers' dime.
It's backed largely by Jewish and Catholic organizations.
Critics, including Mayor Michael Bloomberg, argued it was too broad and would have resulted in millions of extra costs.
