Teens under 17 in New York State will no longer be able take a trip to the tanning salon thanks to a new law signed by Governor Cuomo.

The new law also requires teens ages 17 and 18 to get permission from their parents.

Previously, teens from 14 to 18 could tan with their parents' permission.

The new law takes effect in 30 days.
