A bill requiring large trucks to be equipped with mirrors to eliminate blind spots has cleared its final legislative hurdle.
The state Assembly approved the legislation that seeks to prevent injuries caused when truck drivers are unable to see pedestrians in front of their vehicles.
A number of fatalities in the city have been blamed on these mirrors not being installed on trucks.
Governor Andrew Cuomo is now reviewing the bill before deciding whether to sign it into law.
