The school lunchroom is heading outside for the summer as part of a public awareness campaign.

Middle school students unveiled the tables-turned-art Thursday in Union Square.

The tables, which each address a different social issue, will be displayed at 10 parks across the city.

"Today was awesome, and the table I think I had very fun working on it to show awareness to homeless in a creative way, and use my imagination," said Student Artist Jasmine-Dixon.

"We have talented students located throughout the city, and it's my role to make sure we acknowledge them and accentuate the talents that are out there," said Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott.

The annual exhibit was created by the nonprofit Learning through an Expanded Arts Program, or "LeAp," on cooperation with New York City Parks and Recreation.

The artworks will be on display through August.
