A Port Authority police officer who survived the September 11 attacks is retiring.

Lieutenant David Lim served 34 years for the Port Authority Police Department.

He's one of 16 people who survived the collapse of the North Tower of the World Trade Center on September 11.

His canine partner, Sirius, did not make it out of the collapse.

He mostly recently worked as a member of the Port Authority Police Department's K-9 unit that patrols LaGuardia Airport.

Lim retires Thursday after a ceremony at LaGuardia.
