The hunt continues for the man wanted for assaulting an off-duty police detective on a Manhattan subway platform over the weekend.

The New York City Police Department has put out a sketch of the suspected attacker.

Published reports say he was unhappy with how the detective's cousin treated a panhandler Saturday night on the downtown 6 train platform at 23rd Street.

They go on to say that when the detective tried to intervene, he was punched in the head, falling to the ground and hitting his head on the platform.

He continues to recover at Bellevue Hospital.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit
