The Port Authority is making it easier to get in and out of the city this Labor Day weekend.

Construction will be suspended on both the George Washington Bridge and the Outerbridge Crossing for the holiday.

Work will stop on the two bridges Friday and not start again until Tuesday night.

Three of the four lanes on the George Washington's upper deck have been closed for overnight work, which is expected to last through the end of the year.

The Outerbridge has been closed overnight for repaving. That work is scheduled to be finished in October.
