Long Island Rail Road riders will see fewer rush hour trains for the next few weeks because of work on the East Side Access project.

Three morning rush trains and two evening rush trains will be cancelled each day through August 16 so crews can work on a new underpass in Sunnyside, Queens.

The good news rail officials say is that, once complete, the underpass will reduce congestion for Amtrak trains approaching Penn Station from Boston, meaning fewer potential delays on the LIRR.

The East Side Access project will eventually bring LIRR trains to Grand Central Terminal.

For a list of the cancelled trains go to mta.info.
