Hundreds of drivers were hit with distracting driving tickets over the Fourth of July weekend.
Governor Andrew Cuomo says state police ticketed 486 drivers during the holiday weekend.
He says officers pulled drivers over in both marked and unmarked patrol cars.
It's all part of Governor Cuomo's plan to combat the reckless behavior.
He hopes anyone issued a ticket will now realize the behavior will not be tolerated.
The crackdown comes a week after the governor signed a bill implementing longer suspensions for junior drivers who are caught texting behind the wheel.
